for natural flood management and river restoration in the Upper Darent catchment
SES Water is a local company supplying areas of east Surrey, parts of West Sussex, west Kent and south London and are proud to have served these communities for over 150 years.

Under the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP), SES Water has agreed to work with local stakeholders to help improve the Upper Darent water body in Kent to help meet the Water Framework Directive objectives.

By completing this form, you are requesting a sum of money from the SES Water community fund for the benefit of a non-profit organisation / a project with a close link to natural flood management or river restoration in the Upper Darent catchment area. SES Water may not be able to meet every donation request, but will carefully review each one.

The types of projects that would be considered for funding include:
- Bank realignment
- Installation of deflectors
- Installation of woody debris
- Riverbed re-profiling
- Tree planting
- Hedgerow planting
- Leaky dams
- Weir/barrier removal
- Natural Flood Management

Points of note:
- SES Water will liaise with the Environment Agency to ensure it is happy with the proposed project before providing funding
- The project/ actions taken must ensure no risk of deterioration to the river
- Additional benefits of the work will also be considered e.g. biodiversity and potential water quality improvements
- Work would need to be delivered by December 2023 at the latest
- There is potential that SES Water would like to put monitoring in place before and after the project so must be kept up to date with timescales
- Monitoring can be included in the project cost (specifically flow/morphology) and ecological indicators
