The goal of the College’s admissions processes is to determine your potential to succeed in and gain benefit from the studies for which you are applying. We seek to do this in a way which gives appropriate support to you as an applicant and, potentially, as a student.
The MA Applied Theology programme is designed to equip students to engage in Applied Theology as a discipline, and to develop in their relevant practice. If you would like to learn more about the programme’s aims, you can find them laid out in full in the programme specification, here:
Most of the questions asked below enable the College to assess your suitability for the programme. In addition to those questions, as a UK Higher Education Institution registered with the Office for Students, we are also obliged to ask all applicants about other personal details. Together, the questions enable us to meet the highest standards as a college, particularly in supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds and ensuring that we meet all regulatory requirements relating to equalities and diversity.

Language ProficiencyMinimum English Language Requirements for Postgraduate Study are:A GCSE in English (either English Language or English Literature) at grade C/4 or above, or a Higher. Education qualification taught in English in a country defined by the UK government as majority native speaking (follow this link), or an IELTS Academic Certificate with an overall score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each component (or nationally recognised equivalent to these IELTS scores from a different testing system).

Please note that the College operates a Recognition of Prior Learning system that can assist applicants to engage with the right studies for them. Details of the process and an application form are separately available.

Please upload a passport-style photo of yourself. Unlike a passport photo we do encourage you to smile. If your application is successful, this photo will be used to identify you on our database, the photo wall at college and on your student ID badge.
Your photo must be: clear and in focus, in colour, contain no other objects or people, be taken against a plain light-coloured background, not have ‘red eye’
Data Protection
Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the UK GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation 2018). The information which you provide in your application form will be used for the following purposes: to enable the College to create a computer and paper record of your application; to enable the application to be processed; to enable the institution to compile statistics, or to assist other organizations to do so, as directed by the UK government. Data may be retained post-graduation for statistical reporting and marketing purposes. All information you provide will be kept securely, and will be kept no longer than necessary and no statistical information that would identify you as an individual will be published. Should your application be successful we will use your information in line with your student terms and conditions, which we ask you agree to when accepting an offer from Moorlands College. If you do not commence your studies at Moorlands College, we will hold data obtained during the application process for two years after the intended start year of the course for statistical reporting purposes. All information you provide will be stored and processed securely, in line with our privacy notice.
