Thank you for your interest in nominating someone for the FPM President's Medal. Please read the notes below before completing this form.
Who can nominate?
All FPM members are eligible to nominate. (Affiliates, Associates, Members, Fellows and Honorary positions)
Who can be nominated?
The award is open to all members and non-members of FPM in recognition of a significant contribution to pharmaceutical medicine, which can be over a long period of time or for a sustained and intensive short period. Nominees do not need to be medically qualified. The award is typically made to an individual, however nominations for a team will also be considered.
Please note that nominees will NOT be informed of their nomination by FPM. The winner will be informed no later than 23 May 2024.
How are the winner's chosen?
The Fellowship and Awards Committee will review all nominations on a case-by-case basis. Only the information submitted by on this form will be considered.
The committee will judge each nomination on its individual merit, without reference to any specific criteria, with the final decision agreed by a vote. The nominated awardee will be presented to the Board for final approval.
What do the winners receive?
The winners receive a medal and are invited to our Annual Awards Ceremony for formal commendation of their achievements amongst their peers.
The medal is awarded on a one-time basis and does not carry any other privileges, however, The President’s Medal provides recognition within the wider pharmaceutical medical community for an individual’s valuable contribution to the field.
How to nominate
Nominations should include:
- your name,
- a seconder to support your nomination,
- the name of the nominated individual,
- and a supporting statement of 300-1000 words that details of the nominee’s contributions to pharmaceutical medicine.
FPM Annual Awards Ceremony
If your nominee is awarded the President's Medal, both you and the nominee will be invited to attend our Annual Awards Ceremony on 3 July 2024 at RCP London.
As proposer, you will asked to deliver a short citation for them. If you are not able to attend the ceremony, the person supporting this nomination may present the citation on your behalf.
