Standard 2 - Interpersonal Communication: Learners interact and negotiate meaning in spontaneous, spoken, visual, or written communication to exchange information and express feelings, preferences, and opinions.

Sample interpersonal task:

You and your friend have very busy schedules and lots of interests. You want to get together sometime this weekend. Discuss your weekend plans. Try to find a time you can do something together.

Sample conversational questions for the teacher:

Do you want to go to the movies on Friday? Ana is having a birthday party on Saturday; Do you want to go? What do you want to do this weekend?

Standard 3 - Presentational Communication: Learners present information and ideas on a variety of topics adapted to various audiences of listeners, readers, or viewers to describe, inform, narrate, explain, or persuade.

Sample presentational task:

You are a new student in the class. Tell the class about yourself.

Sample suggestions to help the student focus their thoughts: Think about your family, hobbies, sports and/or food that you enjoy.
