Hallo,

Hi Norman,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our German support agents are busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in German, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.
As for your question, when you enable form encryption on a Jotform, you are required to set up an access code yourself during the process. This access code is not sent to you, as it is something only you create and manage. If you’ve lost the access code, unfortunately, there is no way to recover it or decrypt the encrypted submissions, as Jotform does not store this information for security reasons. To avoid this issue in the future, ensure you securely save your access code when setting up form encryption. Let me show you how it looks like when you turn on Form Encryption:
- In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
- Under the Form Settings page, look for Encrypt Form Data. Toggle it to On.
- You will now be asked to log in your Jotform Account, once you have verified it, it will now ask you to create the access code.
Note that you will not be able to decrypt the previous submissions until you input the original access code. However, you can disable the Encrypt Form Data so that it will not encrypt future submissions. To disable encryption, just follow the first 2 steps above and turn it off.
Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.
