The Cellofest bursary scheme exists to help children and families who would not otherwise be able to attend Cellofest. Each application is considered on a case by case basis.
Applicants must be studying with Suzuki teachers that are trained and are members of the British Suzuki Music Association. Only children attending state funded schools (or are homeschooled) are eligible although exceptions may be made in special circumstances.
Cellofest has a limited fund for bursaries: last year (2023) the total fund for bursaries was £1285 and awards were made to 3 families, representing discounts of between 10% and 90% of the fees. Priority is given to families whose need is greatest and decisions are based on gross annual income and outgoings.
This year the scheme is also supported by The Cello Corner Foundation
