SMTP als Absender-E-Mail für Konto kann nicht eingerichtet werden

    Hallo Support,

    wir nutzen das Starterpaket bei euch und würden gerne die eigene E-Mail-Absender Kennung und den Versand über SMPT verwenden, laut unserem Anbieter sind noch folgende Einstellungen für den SMPT Versand vorgesehen:

    SMTP-Server smtp.ionos.de
    Sicherheitstyp SSL/TLS
    Port 465

    Der Benutzername und dass Passwort wurden von uns überprüft, trotzdem erhalten wir die Fehlermeldung, dass eine Testmail über euer System nicht versendet werden kann.

    Haben Sie eine Idee, woran dies liegen könnte?

    Now, coming back to your question, the most common reason you're getting an error when setting up SMTP for your Jotform account to be used as Sender Email is that the credentials being used to set it up is incorrect. You may need to check with your IT on the correct information needed to set up SMTP, especially the username and password. Once you've confirmed this, you can try setting it up again and see if it'll work. Let me show you how:

    1. On your My Forms page, click on your Avatar/Profile Image on the top-right side of the page.

    2. On the window that will pop up, click on Settings just below Admin Console.

    3. Click on Add Sender Email button in the Sender Emails section of the page.

    • SMTP Account Username — Unless your hosting provider specifies a unique username, this should be your email address.
    • SMTP Account Password — Enter the password of the given SMTP Account.
    • Host Name — The hostname provided by your hosting provider.
    • Email Address — Your email address.
    • Password —The password for the given email address/username.
    • Security Protocol — Select TLS or SSL.
    • Port — Enter 587 for TSL or 465 for SSL.

    Do note that the password might be different from the one used for the email, especially if the password is something generated by the hosting domain, like App Passwords for Google or the OAuth2 for Microsoft.     Hello,
    Do you have SMTP Auth activated? Sending mail fails despite the correct settings.

    Usually, this error is caused by incorrect SMTP Credentials. Can you try to double-check if the SMTP credentials are correct? I suggest reaching out to your email service or hosting provider to verify this. For further verification, you can also test your credentials through this SMTP Test Tool.
