Jotform’s Form Access Settings allows you to restrict access to your forms. You can choose Public, the default. You can also set it to Private, which restricts the form to invited users only, or Company Access, which restricts it to Jotform users registered with your organization’s email domain only.
To change your form’s Access Settings, follow the steps below:
- In Form Builder, click on the Publish tab.
- Next, click on Settings to the right of the Share With Link section and select the access setting for your form.
Understanding Different Form Access Settings
Public Form means anyone can access your form.
Private Form means only people who are invited and has accepted the invitation to become assignee(s) can access your form. Accepting means to have an account with Jotform to access the form.
See Also: Adding Assignees to Your Form.
Company Access means only people invited with an email address from the domain set in the settings can access your form.

Note
The Allow form fillers to request access to this form option is enabled by default on forms with Private or Company Access. This feature allows logged-in users to request access to your form. Uncheck the box next to it to disable this option. For more details, see How to Disable Request Access for Private and Company Access Assets.
At the bottom of the Access Settings, you’ll find different Permissions, where you can set the default permission granted to each individual invited to fill out your form:
- Submit Only — Allows invited individuals to view and submit the form.
- Submit & View Later — Lets invited individuals view their submissions after submitting the form.
- Submit & Edit Later — Enables invited individuals to edit their submissions in addition to viewing them after submission.
Note
Invited people can view and edit their submissions by logging into their accounts, similar to how form assignees access forms assigned to them. See also: Accessing Forms Assigned to You
Sending Email Invitations with Permissions
To invite people to fill out your form by email, follow these steps:
- In Form Builder, click on the Publish tab.
- Next, click on the Recipients field in the Invite By Email section under Direct Link of Your Form to start sending invitations to people.
- Then, enter the email addresses of those you want to invite and click on Send Invitation. You can also include an invitation message.
Here’s an example of what recipients will see when invited to fill out your form using this method:
Note
- The people you invited to fill out your form must log in to the account linked to the email address the invitation was sent to when they click the View Form button in the invitation email, regardless of the form’s access settings.
- Recipients will receive individual invitation emails, meaning they won’t see who else was invited when you send the invitation to multiple people.

I have my form set to Private, and people outside of the company are still asking for access, and it's archived! How can I disable it completely without deleting it?

The login feature is so sporadic. All of our forms are public but for some reason, it asks some people (completely random) to sign in. Also if you invite them from the 'Direct links to your form' it won't let people fill it in until they log in.
Whats going on?

Hello,
I work at a high school and created a registration form using Jotform. We'd like the form to be open to students logged into their school Google Mail account, and had hoped to be able to turn on permissions for the form by using the student domain - students.d125.org. However, my school domain is @d125.org, and Jotform will not accept the student domain.
Help?
