How to Use Custom Domains With Jotform Enterprise

August 22, 2024

Utilizing custom domains with Jotform Enterprise enhances brand consistency and user trust. By configuring DNS settings, you can link your domain to Jotform’s servers, ensuring that form URLs reflect your brand. This guide shows how to use a custom domain for your form URLs.

For this to work, you will need the following:

Note

The setup only works for subdomains. For example, if you own the domain name “yourdomain.com,” you can use forms.yourdomain.com or any subdomain at your discretion, but not “yourdomain.com” by itself.

Assuming you already own a domain name, for instance, example.com, and you want to use the subdomain forms.example.com for your forms so that the URL looks like the following:

https://forms.example.com/1234567890

Note

CAA (Certificate Authority Authorization) records are DNS resource records that allow domain owners to specify which certificate authorities are authorized to issue SSL certificates for their domain. If you have a CAA record, make sure that your record includes one of the following:

DOMAIN. CAA 0 issue "pki.goog"
DOMAIN. CAA 0 issue "letsencrypt.org"

By ensuring this, you can effectively set up CAA records to control SSL certificate issuance for your custom domain, enhancing security and ensuring that only authorized certificate authorities can issue certificates.

Once you have an Enterprise account, use your domains with Jotform Enterprise by adding a DNS record. Add a CNAME record that points your Enterprise URL (e.g., yourcompany.jotform.com) to your subdomain.

Using the example above, the DNS record will look like the following:

NameTypeValue
forms.example.comCNAMEyourcompany.jotform.com

After configuring the DNS record, you should contact the Enterprise Support team to complete the setup and ensure everything is in place. Once completed, you can start using your custom domain for your form URLs.
