Jotform is generous when it comes to its subscription plans. The Starter Plan, for example, allows you to receive up to 100 monthly regular submissions across all five forms from the same tier. These limits are mostly enough to complete a small project that requires data collection, especially if it’s on an occasional basis.
If you receive more submissions beyond your current plan, you’ll hit your limit, and when this happens, your forms will display an error message that also says, This form has exceeded its allocated quota. This error is a system standard and is fixable in multiple ways.
Checking and Fixing the Error as a Form Owner
If you are the form owner, fixing the “This form has exceeded its allocated quota” error requires you to check the following:
- Regular Submissions — Your monthly submissions from forms without payment.
- Payment Submissions — Your monthly submissions to forms you integrated with one of our payment gateways, like PayPal or Stripe.
- Sign Documents — Your monthly completed signed documents. Kindly visit Jotform Sign to learn more.
- Form Views — Your monthly total number of views across all forms from your account.
- Upload Space — The fixed total available storage space for your forms with the File Upload field.
You can check all these through your Account – Usage section. Here’s an example:
In general, the limit will reset monthly. You can either wait for the schedule, which is indicated on the Usage page of your account or do the following:
- Increase your account limits by upgrading your account to the next tier. See How to Upgrade My Account for more details.
Note: Waiting for the reset schedule or upgrading are the only options if you maxed out your limits for Sign Document, Payment Submissions, and Form Views. - Increase your regular submission limit by completing some tasks through our GetMore Program. Visit your account’s Increase Limit section for the list.
Note: The increase applies to the Regular Submission limit only. - If you get the error message due to File Storage, you must delete and purge your form submission data with the file uploads. Visit How to Delete Form Submission Data to learn more.
Reporting the Error as a Form User
If you are a form user, you will see the error immediately on the form upon viewing it. In some cases, the error will appear after submitting the form. Here are your options to help the form owner:
- Contact the form owner through email if you have their contact or the owner’s website if you submitted it there. Most websites have contact pages, so visit that page to report.
- Submit a ticket to Jotform indicating the error, and provide the form URL or the page where you see the error. Go to Contact Jotform Support to create a ticket.
